Del always had a smile, a laugh a twinkle is his eye and a story to tell, more often than not with a beer in his hand.  It always warmed my heart when Mike would tell me that Delboy and Betty were visiting NZ. Even though I saw him less than a handful of times over 20 odd years I’ll always fondly remember us hanging out; whether it was in NZ (Wellington, Riversdale, Hawkes Bay), Sweden or the Scottish Highlands.  And years may have passed between catching-up, but Del was that sort of warm, effervescent and engaging sort of mate, where time stood still and it was like we’d just seen each other at the pub the week before.  The world has lost a good one, catch you on the other side Del.  Adam
